The apprenticeship program is a four month long, 2 day per week comprehensive bicycle mechanic course. Training consists of hands on instruction, supervised work, and lastly, an immersion session that will allow the students to make repairs on bikes in a problem solving capacity.
Students are given expert instruction in either a morning or afternoon session. They are able to choose a specialty in their training. In general, a student will choose mountain or road bikes to focus on during the session and their teacher will be especially proficient in that realm of mechanics. This determination is more to provide extra training in an area of interest, rather than to take away from their obtaining a well-rounded education in all types of bikes.
A certificate of completion and a detailed record of skills will be provided at the time of graduation.
